Taster’s Choice 5: Mobb Deep

mobb.jpg

Maybe it’s nervous quality of Prodigy’s vocal tone, or the disquieting nature of Havoc’s production – but either way, we’re still devoted fans of those that speak the dunn language (yes, even after the G-Unit move). I remember the feeling that I was hearing the rawest shit in my life when I was shorty and listening to “Shook Ones Pt. II“, only to have that feeling repeated two-fold when I heard the first single off of Murda Muzik (video posted below). The game got a lot from the m-o-double, whether it was slang, Havoc’s production, or the brief moment in New York when everybody was rocking obnoxiously long chains as a result of one Prodigy line. With all that said, I actually had a lot of fun putting this Taster’s Choice together, hopefully you guys enjoy the samples. Peace kitko!
