Kid ‘n’ Play Tee by Rocksmith

Loud snores are still heard ’round the world when the subject of Most Influential Rap Duo comes up. Run DMC, OutKast, EPMD, UGK, even M.O.P all come to mind before you hear anyone bring up this rap group. I think I even heard somebody say Camp Lo (no offense, shouts to Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede fa sho, fa sho). But damn, I guess it’s a prerequisite for duos to have an acronym to make the list. Must be why nobody ever seems to remember Kid ‘n’ Play. Hip-Hoppers from here to Bangkok (…pause…) have continued to catch serious Z’z on these dudes even though they helped build the blueprint for everything hip-hop could offer to the young aspiring artist.

I mean they’ve done it all. Music. Check! Movies. Check! Making it cool (mandatory even) for n!gas to dance. Double Check!! I mean, these dudes even had their own cartoon. You know who the other rapper with a cartoon was?? Hammer!! Wait, I don’t think y’all heard me…..I said HAMMER N!GA, HAMMER!!!! Like @ the hizzeight of HAMMERTIME. Not “Can I Borrow A Dollar” Hammer, I’m referring to “Can’t Touch This, I’m On the NFL Sidelines with my Homeboy Neon Deion” Hammer. So considering each person reading this post has seen both the edited and unedited version of House Party, House Party 2, & Class Act (House Party 3 never existed, I don’t care what you bastards say) about 257 times respectively as well as reenacted the “kick-the-foot” dance aptly titled “The Kid ‘n’ Play” at least once in your lifetime, I’d say its high time we pay a little homage to those that paved the way. Oh-La-Oh-La-AY!!!
