Are you are one of the many young word slingers with nothing more than a dollar, a dream and the first drafts of the next great American novel in your notebook? Or, are you a designer who collects the cut outs from the pages of your favorite high fashion magazine and pastes them in your sketch book for inspiration? Whatever the case, you are probably in need of a distraction from the seemingly perpetual state of broke-ness of an artist in a recession ridden economy. Check out these exhibits and let a load off.
If you happen to be in New York City this summer check out “Andy Warhol: The Last Decade” at the Brooklyn Museum. Nearly fifty pieces that highlight the last leg of Warhol’s artistic development will be on display.
Also, the lucky bastards who are traveling to Switzerland this season would be wasting their airfare if they do not check out “Basquiat” at the Foundation Beyeler – an exhibition that showcases over one hundred friggin works of greatness.
